The KC Pioneers believe that building a stronger LGBTQ+ and leather community takes more than words—it takes work. Whether we’re volunteering at coat check or offering unrestricted grants, we’re committed to uplifting causes that align with our values of inclusion, visibility, and care.
1. An applicant must have their headquarters, or significant presence no further than a 50-mile radius from Union Station.
2. Applicants must be a registered organization with Missouri or Kansas Secretary of State and be in good standing. Please provide your organization charter papers for easy finding.
3. Organizations will be prioritized the following way:
a. Registered Non-Profit or Charity with the IRS under any 501 classifications. Please provide a copy of your determination letter from the IRS.
b. Registered Not-for-profits in Missouri or Kansas. Please provide a copy of your state issued registration.
4. While LGBTQ+ centric organizations are preferred, it is not a requirement. However, the organization MUST have a publicly accessible inclusion statement. Please provide your inclusion statement and where to publicly find it.
5. There must be a specific need with a specific dollar amount requested. Requests without a specific dollar amount and specific need will not be considered. Those requests for “General Fund”, etc. will not be considered. Please provide detailed information on your request and cost structure behind the figure requested.

KC CareFfortissiMO are a group of local musicians who come from different backgrounds, with one common passion for making music. ffortissiMO strives to provide social and supportive opportunities for LGBTQIA+ adults in the Kansas City area and to practice and perform music with a broad appeal for a wide variety of audiences.
FfortissiMOThe Mid America Freedom Band provides a safe space for instrumental performance opportunities, outreach, and social advocacy for music enthusiasts within the LGBTQ+ and ally spectrum of the Kansas City area to create an inclusive community that fosters and celebrates diversity.
Mid-America Freedom BandConfluence HRKC offers free supply kits for safer drug use, including test strips and Naloxone, which is used for opioid overdose reversal. They also provide condoms, wound care supplies, Plan B, basic hygiene kits, and N95 masks. All their supplies are always free.
Confluence HRKCBlaqOut is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit and movement organization whose work impacts Black queer and trans-identified people in the greater Kansas City metropolitan area to enjoy a sense of community, experience healing, and feel celebrated, nurtured, seen, and heard.

More Than Just a FantasyTransformations is a transgender and gender non-conforming (TGNC) and gender-expansive youth social and support drop-in group in the Kansas City area for young people (12-18 years old) who self-identify as TGNC or are questioning their gender identity.

Sisters of Perpetual IndulgenceThe KC Pioneers were founded in 1975, as a gay male motorcycle group. We have evolved into Kansas City’s most senior LGBTQIA charity. The KC Pioneers are a 509a2 tax exempt charity. We are considered a charitable organization under the IRS Section(s) 2055,2106, or 2522. Donors can deduct contributions under IRC Section 170 of the 501c Public Charity Tax-Exempt Code.
